1. Introduction — Who We Are

Clarida Inc. ("Clarida," "we," "us," or "our") is a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in the United States. We operate the website claridavision.com and sell Clarida Eye Support Capsules, a dietary supplement.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, use Ask Clarida, or place an order — and what we do with it.

We have written this in plain language on purpose. Many of the people who visit our website are managing age-related macular degeneration, and you should not need a lawyer to understand what happens to your information. If anything here is unclear, please write to us at support@claridavision.com and we will explain it.

By using claridavision.com, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. What Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and phone number. Your payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our systems.

When you join our waitlist or subscribe to updates, we collect your name and email address.

When you contact customer service, we collect whatever information you choose to share with us in that conversation, including by email or telephone.

When you use the Clarida Rhythm scheduling tool, we collect the wake and sleep times you enter so the tool can generate your personalized dose schedule.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical information: your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, and the website you came from.

Information from your use of Ask Clarida

When you use Ask Clarida, we collect the questions you ask, the responses the system provides, and the audience identity you select — Patient or Caregiver, Clinician or Eye Care Professional, Exploring the Science, or Potential Partner or Collaborator.

Section 4 explains this in more detail.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for and do not want your medical records, diagnostic imaging, test results, or clinical history. Please do not send these to us.

We are not a healthcare provider and we are not covered by HIPAA. Information you send us is not protected health information and does not carry the protections it would have if you shared it with your doctor.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes.

To fulfill your order. Processing your purchase, taking payment, shipping your product, sending order confirmations and tracking information, and managing returns and refunds.

To provide customer service. Answering your questions, resolving problems with orders, and processing requests under our Visionary Guarantee.

To operate and improve the platform. Understanding how people use our website and Ask Clarida so we can make both work better, identify errors, and improve the accuracy and clarity of the information we provide.

To communicate with you. Sending you information about your order, and — if you have opted in — sending you updates about Clarida, our science, and our products. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time and we will stop.

To meet legal obligations. Keeping records we are required to keep, responding to lawful requests, and protecting against fraud.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for you.

4. Ask Clarida

Ask Clarida is an artificial intelligence tool. It uses a large language model together with a proprietary knowledge base built from 137 peer-reviewed scientific citations organized across three confidence tiers.

Please read this section carefully. It describes how your conversations are handled and we have tried to be precise rather than reassuring.

Ask Clarida is not a medical device and it does not provide medical advice. It provides educational information about the science behind Clarida grounded in a defined evidence base. It cannot diagnose you it cannot tell you whether anything is right for your situation and it is not a substitute for your eye care professional.

We store your conversations. When you use Ask Clarida the questions you type and the answers the system gives are saved to our database. This is how we identify where the system answers poorly where our information is unclear and where our evidence base needs strengthening. It is how the platform improves.

We store what you type exactly as you type it. Our system does not ask for your name and does not require an account. There are no fields in our conversation records for your name your email address your IP address or your order history.

But if you type your name your age your diagnosis your medications or anything else about yourself into the chat that text is saved along with the rest of the conversation. The system does not detect it remove it or treat it differently.

If you ask us to follow up by email your conversation becomes identifiable. When you provide an email address so that we can respond to you that address is associated with your question through our email service. From that point your conversation can be connected to you as a person. If your question contained personal or health information we are then holding that information alongside your email address.

We want to be plain about this rather than reassuring. We do not have a system that links conversations to customer accounts or order history and we have not built one. But where you have given us your email for follow-up a practical path to identifying you exists and we will not pretend otherwise.

This is why we ask you not to enter personal information. Please do not type your name contact details medical records test results or specific details of your condition. You can ask any question you like without identifying yourself — is Clarida appropriate for someone with advanced dry AMD gets you the same answer as a version containing your name and only one of them leaves a record.

We are not a healthcare provider and we are not covered by HIPAA. Anything you type into Ask Clarida is not protected health information. It does not carry the legal protections that apply in a clinical setting. We take reasonable steps to secure it but the protections are ours not the law's.

Retention — twelve months

We keep conversations for twelve months from the date of the conversation and then we delete them. Not anonymised — deleted. We do not believe personal text can be reliably stripped of everything that identifies a person so we do not claim to do it.

We keep some information about how the platform performed — which kinds of questions were asked how the system answered where it fell short. That information never contained anything you typed.

Some conversations are generated by our own team to test the system's accuracy. Those are marked as test traffic and stored in the same place.

Individual deletion requests

If you want a conversation removed write to us at support@claridavision.com.

What we will need from you. Because we do not link conversations to identities we need enough detail to find the right one — roughly when you used Ask Clarida and something about what you asked. If you gave us an email address for follow-up that alone is usually enough.

We will not ask you for identity documents. Asking a person to prove who they are in order to delete a record that we say is not connected to them would require us to collect more information about you rather than less. Where a request concerns a conversation we can only locate through an email address we will confirm the request from that address before acting on it.

How long we take. We will acknowledge your request within five business days and complete it within thirty days. If we need longer we will tell you why and when to expect it.

When we may not be able to delete. If we are under a legal obligation to retain something — a subpoena a court order a regulatory requirement or an active legal dispute — we will preserve that record and tell you plainly that we have done so and why.

Backups and copies. Deleting a conversation removes it from our live system immediately. Encrypted backups are retained on a rolling cycle and a deleted conversation may persist in a backup until that backup expires. We do not restore deleted conversations from backups and we do not search backups for any operational purpose. If we ever restore a backup for disaster recovery we re-apply outstanding deletions afterwards.

Where a conversation has been processed by one of our service providers — our language model provider our email service — we will instruct them to delete it in accordance with our agreements with them. We will tell you honestly that we can instruct deletion but cannot independently verify it on their systems.

Who handles this. Requests are handled by our operations team. Jodi Anderson at Onyx Strategy Group is the named owner of this process. She logs each request with date received date completed and what was deleted.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We have not sold personal information in the past twelve months and we do not intend to. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We share information with the following categories of service providers, and only to the extent they need it to do their work for us.

Payment processors, to take payment for your order securely.

Fulfillment and shipping partners, to pick, pack, and deliver your order to you. This requires your name and shipping address.

Email and communications providers, to send order confirmations and, where you have opted in, updates.

The technology behind Ask Clarida. Ask Clarida uses a large language model provided by a third party to generate its responses. Your questions and the material our system retrieves to answer them are sent to that provider to produce an answer. We have contracted with them on terms that prohibit using your conversations to train their models.

Voice narration. Where the platform reads content aloud we use a third-party voice service. Text sent for narration is processed by that service to produce audio.

Email follow-up. If you ask us to follow up your email address and your question pass through an automation service and an email provider so that we can respond to you.

Analytics. We use analytics services to understand how the website is used — which pages are read where people encounter difficulty. These services do not receive the content of your Ask Clarida conversations.

Professional advisors, including our accountants and attorneys, where necessary.

Each of these providers is bound by contract to use your information only for the purpose we engaged them for.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to — in response to a subpoena, court order, or other lawful request — or where necessary to protect our rights, investigate fraud, or protect the safety of any person.

If Clarida is acquired or merges with another company, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. If that happens, we will notify you.

If you share health information with us

Some visitors tell Ask Clarida about their diagnosis their medications or how their vision has changed. We understand why — you are trying to get a useful answer to a real question.

Please know three things before you do.

We are not your doctor and we are not bound by medical privacy law. What you tell us is not protected health information.

Whatever you type is stored in our records for twelve months and it passes through the third-party services described above.

And you do not need to tell us. Ask Clarida answers the same way whether or not you identify yourself or your condition. Describing your situation in general terms gets you the same answer and leaves no record about you.

If you have already shared something you would rather we did not hold write to support@claridavision.com and we will remove it.

6. How Long We Keep Your Information

Order and transaction records are kept for seven years, which is the period required for tax and accounting purposes.

Customer service correspondence is kept for three years.

Marketing contact information is kept until you unsubscribe, and for a short period afterward so that we can honor your unsubscribe request.

Ask Clarida conversation data is kept for twelve months from the date of the conversation and then deleted, as described in Section 4.

Website analytics data is kept for twenty-six months.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you. Ask Clarida conversations are deleted, not anonymised.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information. These apply to everyone who uses our website, regardless of where you live — we have chosen not to make you prove you live in a particular state before we will honor them.

The right to know. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, where we got it, what we use it for, and who we have shared it with.

The right to access. You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

The right to correction. If information we hold about you is wrong, you can ask us to correct it.

The right to deletion. You can ask us to delete your personal information. We may need to keep certain records — order and tax records, for example — where the law requires it, and we will tell you if that applies.

The right to opt out of marketing. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any message, or by writing to support@claridavision.com. We will act on this promptly. You will still receive messages about orders you have placed.

The right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide a means to opt out.

The right not to be discriminated against. We will not charge you a different price, provide a lower quality of service, or deny you products because you exercised any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, write to support@claridavision.com or call 757-327-1762. We will respond within forty-five days. If we need more time we will tell you why. For Ask Clarida conversation deletion requests, we acknowledge your request within five business days and complete it within thirty days, as described in Section 4.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, particularly for access or deletion. We will only ask for what is necessary to confirm you are who you say you are.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights under state law, including the right to appeal a decision we make about a request. If we decline a request, we will explain why and tell you how to appeal.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. We use them for the following purposes.

Essential cookies make the website work — keeping items in your cart, keeping you logged in during checkout, and maintaining security. The site will not function properly without these.

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, how long people stay, and where they encounter difficulty. We use this to improve the website.

Ask Clarida remembers your selected audience identity while the page remains open.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when one is set. If you block essential cookies, parts of our website will not work.

Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a Do Not Track signal. There is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, and we do not currently respond to it. We do not track you across other companies' websites.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of thirteen.

If you believe a child under thirteen has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@claridavision.com and we will delete it.

Our products are intended for adults. You must be eighteen or older to purchase from us.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls limiting who at Clarida can see personal information, and payment processing through providers who meet industry security standards.

We should be honest with you: no method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we will not pretend otherwise.

If a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our business changes or as the law requires. When we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date at the top.

If we make a change that materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will tell you directly — by email if we have your address, or through a clear notice on the website.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
